Arts Programs for Children, Youth & Adults with Disabilities
Use your imagination, express yourself, and have fun interacting with your peers and with local professional artists in Upstream Arts workshops. Programs are led by actors, dancers, poets, musicians, and visual artists who will give you the tools, the space, and the opportunity to experience and create your own art. Individuals of all abilities create together in a cooperative and social environment, and learn lessons that apply to everyday communication and social interaction. Family members, aides and care providers are welcome to participate in programs — at no additional cost— to facilitate participants' involvement and to experience a new way and venue for interaction with their child, sibling or client.

Franklin Makes Friends
Franklin is lonely,
He is as lonely as a kangaroo without a joey.
Franklin has zero friends.
So he joins a basketball game.
Franklin is happy.
He is rich with friends.

“One of my favorite times was when we imagined that we saw a mountain, and we went up it. It was hard, and then we jumped off it with a parachute and came down, and untied the parachute. But I liked it best when we made it to the top of the mountain.”
