Our Teaching Artists and Staff are involved in a wide range of professional projects outside of their work with Upstream Arts. Each month, we post opportunities to see their performances, exhibitions, and other events around the Twin Cities and beyond. Click on the links below to learn more about these opportunities.

Jessica Finney will participate in Swim. Bike. Run. Try – YWCA of Minneapolis Women’s Triathlon on August 12, a major feat through which she’s graciously raising funds for Upstream Arts. Check out her training blog, consider becoming a supporter, and cheer her on as the big day approaches!

Charles Fraser will be directing Hennepin Theatre Trust’s SpotLight on Cabaret at the New Century Theatre on August 20, featuring a cast of high school students and musicians from the Twin Cities’ School of Rock.

Rachel Jendrzejewski co-created a short film for Parallel Octave’s ANTHOLOGY II (with Theo Goodell), to premiere at the Creative Alliance in Baltimore on August 2. Her play Grace Note also will be part of Trinity Repertory Company‘s New Play Workshops in Providence on August 12.

Julie Kurtz continues her work with Colectivo Katari in Cochobamba, Bolivia. Click here to read her latest reports and reflections.

Norah Long will perform in Answered Prayers at the Minnesota Fringe Festival from August 2-12 in the Rarig Center Xperimental Black Box Theatre. She’ll also play a principal role in a short independent feature film (The Switch Key), shooting this month, before heading to NYC for a series of auditions.

Seth Patterson co-created and directed Casual Encounters, a new comedy that will premiere at the Minnesota Fringe Festival. Collaboratively developed through improv, the show runs August 5-11 at the Gremlin Theatre.
