The Art of Voice and Choice

This training takes an arts-based approach to teaching the core concepts of Person Centered Planning and Informed Choice and is designed for persons served, direct support professionals, parents, residential providers, stakeholders, employers and community members.

Person Centered Planning and Informed Choice are inclusive practices at the center of the Olmstead Plan, as well as other new Federal legislation, designed to inform individuals with disabilities of all of their options for living and working, and to place individuals with disabilities in control of their own choices, and to achieve authentic inclusion of individuals with disabilities in all aspects of community life.

The Art of Social Skills 

An interdisciplinary arts class for adults with disabilities that uses the arts to build social emotional and communication skills needed in school, work, and life.  Upstream Arts teaching artists—all local, professional artists—lead interactive activities in visual arts, theater, poetry, music, and dance that nurture self-expression, interaction, and collaboration.  Upstream Arts has 11+ years of expertise in providing classes designed for and accessible to individuals with disabilities. If you are regularly supported by a 1:1 aide/PCA, please bring an aide/PCA to class sessions. ASL and other accommodations provided.
