Our Teaching Artists and Staff are involved in a wide range of professional projects outside of their work with Upstream Arts. Each month, we post opportunities to see their performances, exhibitions, and other events as well as notable accomplishments.
Lindsey Samples directed a show called Egg is… as part of the Family Fringe. Created for children 6 and under, but enjoyed by all ages. Evie Digirolamo is part of Sandbox Theatre’s Houdini, an outdoor aerial original. Running August 16-18, Houdini explores our human desire for metamorphosis, how we seek to change ourselves, our world, and the price we pay in our pursuit. Doña Pepa, Pedro Pablo Lander’s drag persona, will be kicking off the Drag Story Hour performance series on Saturday August 25 from 10:30am-12:30pm. Performance is from 11:00-11:45am at the Powderhorn Park outside stage. Free and accepting donations for the Chicago Avenue Project. Doña Pepa will also feature in Thirdspace’s End of Summer party on Friday, August 31 at 10pm.
Chris Garza assistant directed the classic musical West Side Story, which continues to run throughout August at the Guthrie. More information available here.
Theresa Madaus helps facilitate Don’t You Feel It Too?, a participatory art project of dancing your inner self in public places for social healing and personal liberation.
